The useful idea

Measure the whole task, including setup, review and corrections. Compare equivalent examples against your current process, record errors and decide whether the improvement is worth the effort and cost.

Make it work for you.

1. Record a baseline.

Time several representative examples using your current approach. Note quality requirements and common exceptions.

2. Try the new process.

Use comparable examples. Track preparation, tool use, review and corrections separately.

3. Inspect the quality.

Check facts, completeness and whether the result can actually be used. Record errors even when the final output looks polished.

4. Make a decision.

Keep, change or stop the workflow. Recheck after major tool or process changes.

A starting point you can copy.

Replace the brackets with your own approved information. Use this with a tool your organization allows.

YOUR REUSABLE PROMPT
Create a blank comparison worksheet for this task: [TASK].
Include fields for method, example, preparation time, execution time,
review time, correction time, quality checks, errors and tool cost.
Calculate total time only from supplied values.
Do not invent a baseline or savings.
End with a keep/change/stop decision and reason.

Check before you use it.

Use measured results from your own work. A small test can inform a decision but is not a guarantee of future performance.

Keep the source information next to the draft. Confirm facts, remove unsupported claims and decide what still needs a person’s judgment.

Make it repeatable.

Save the useful inputs and the steps you followed. Record what you changed. When the task or tool changes, run the same checks again.
